Nu Yalk Pizza

Off of Moana in Reno, Nu Yalk Pizza is some of the best thin crust pizza in town.

To be honest, I have been to Nu Yalk Pizza quite a few times now and have to say that I love this place.

First off, the appearance. There is no denying it but this place does look a tad run down. Its by no means dirty but it could do with a little face lift. They have a lot of ‘memorabilia’ from New York, etc which is kind of cool but again - it looks highly dated.

Another thing is the chairs at the tables, I don’t know what they were thinking but the plastic patio chairs they have used while comfortable are simply too big and clumsy.

Moving on to the food and this is a whole different story. If you like thin crust pizza these guys are great. I highly recommend the Roma Tomato pizza and their cheese pizza. Whatever they are putting in the tomato sauce and seasoning their crust with is excellent and very tasty. If you’re up for it they also have a great anchovy pizza - I know a lot of people turn thier noses up to anchovies but I have to say its really good. Their pepperoni is great and always a favorite but for whatever reason the pepperoni they use gets greasy and you may find yourself mopping it up with a napkin.

They have a good selection of beers to compliment their pizzas (calzones & salads too!) as well as the usual sodas, although its nice to have something different (RC Cola) instead of the usual Coke/Pepsi fare.

Prices are OK but are more expensive for a whole pie than you will pay at the chains (Pizza Hut, Godfathers, etc). Last time we at there and had a XL 1/2 Pepperoni, 1/2 Roma tomato with 3 sodas and 1/2 pitcher of beer was about $32.

Another thing to mention is that they do pizza by the slice (1 topping) which is a great lunch for a couple bucks. They also offer wireless internet should you have your laptop.

I recommend Nu Yalk Pizza to almost anyone I know looking for thin crust New York Style Pizza - its great!

Damn! this is great Pizza. It’s without a doubt the best I’ve ever had. If you love garlic and parmesean cheese, you will love this pizza.

They spread a glob of ssauce on top of their hand thrown crust. Then they mix in a bunch of parmesean cheese into the sauce while on the pizza. They then mix it together and then spread it out all over including out to the end of the dough. No skimping here.

No painting of the sauce here. No scrimping on the toppings. It cost a bit more but is easily worth twice the price of any other pizza I’ve had.

Try the combo..Oh my God! Like you’ve died and gone to heaven!
